SMALL PRODUCER OF THE YEAR 2012

BEST SAUVIGNON BLANC IN WA

- RAY JORDAN WEST AUSTRALIAN WINE GUIDE 2012

"Lime and a little tomato bush, a softer style, not so racy, but with appropriate cut, thrust and freshness and maybe a touch of sweetness. It all hangs together very well and there's elements of grapefruit and passionfruit, a gentle creaminess and a touch of sweatiness adding complexity. Finishes well. Good example of the style."

Gary Walsh, The Winefront - 2011 Single Vineyard Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 91/100

"This is the most striking example of Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc. It's been picked nice and early to retain it's fresh acidity that certainly makes an impact on the palate. Herbs and gooseberry on the nose with subtle cut grass. The crunchy passionfruit flavours are appealing and the finish is precise and long. Excellent."

Ray Jordan, WA Wine Guide 2012 - 2011 Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc BEST IN WA 94/100

"The creaminess of a little barrel fermentation is immediately apparent on the nose. There is a degree of complexity that sets this up. Palate is creamy and rich with deep fruit intensity lifted with a lively zippy acid. Nice mix of melon and passionfruit with a squeeze of bracing lemon juice. Good wine."

Ray Jordan, WA Wine Guide 2012 - 2011 Single Vineyard Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 91/100

"The Windows Estate Single Vineyard Chardonnay, a wine that could put this small producer on the map."

"Boy this is some Chardonnay. Strikes with a piercing mix of pear and grapefruit against a textured backdrop of

stonefruit and slightly roasted nuts. The palate is finely balanced and just a little bit funky, with deep lingering complexity.

Great to see a new chum on the Chardonnay stage in Margaret River."

Ray Jordan, The West Magazine- 2010 Single Vineyard Chardonnay 94/100

"Take in that first sniff of blackcurrant and tart black olive and you are immediately in the cabernet zone. It's where you want to be. This is a classy cabernet displaying both power and elegance in a controlled and refined package. Love those fine firmish tannins and the well weighted oak which provide support to that pure cabernet fruit. Yep, it's a good 'un."

Ray Jordan, WA Wine Guide 2012 - 2009 Basket Pressed Cabernet Sauvignon 94/100

"There is something almost atypical against the normal Aussie shiraz from Windows and it's a most appealing alternative. This is an elegant and subtle shiraz with a savoury dryness about it. The tannins though ripe have a sinewy chewy feel and the oak is very much understated. Terrific wine."

Ray Jordan, WA Wine Guide 2012 - 2008 Basket Pressed Shiraz 91/100

"Deliciously appealing and juicy cabernet merlot brimming with lush plums and ripe blackcurrant fruit. The tannins are ripe and the oak well handled with a little juicy sappiness completing a very good palate. An attractive wine for drinking over the next few years. Balance is the thing here."

Ray Jordan, WA Wine Guide 2012 - 2009 Basket Pressed Cabernet Merlot 90/100

"A great wine", said one judge. Stylish and refined, with savoury complexity to the nose and beautifully handled fruit/oak/lees balance on a palate underscored with soft acidity".

5 STAR RATING

JAMES HALLIDAY 2011 WINE COMPANION

"Bright straw-green; a complex bouquet with tangy white flesh stone fruit and a controlled touch of funk; the palate follows on logically, but with good overall restraint."

James Halliday Wine Companion 2011- 2009 Chardonnay 95/100

"Purple-red, not star bright; the fragrant cassis bouquet and elegant palate are vivid and pure, showing no alcohol heat or dead fruit; while medium bodied, the wine has great focus, intensity and drive."

James Halliday Wine Companion 2011- 2009 Basket Pressed Cabernet Sauvignon 94/100

"Good colour; the fragrant bouquet of cassis, black olive and blackcurrant is replicated on the elegant, medium bodied palate; cedary French oak has been very well handled, likewise the tannins. Delicious wine."

James Halliday Wine Companion 2011- 2009 Basket Pressed Cabernet Merlot 94/100
