L.C. Davies Cabernet Sauvignon

$94.00

600 bottles produced | Release Date August 2025

“L.C. Davies, after Chris and Jo’s son, Lucas. His sister has a wine named after her, so only right he should, too. The wine already has pedigree. All cabernet sauvignon, fermented naturally in barrel and clay vessels, aged 18 months in new French barriques. Small quantities, as is the way with this boutique producer. A beautifully composed wine with restrained fruit flavours, some cassis and mulberries. The fruit has sucked up the oak so it’s not overtly woody – just some cedary spice in the mix. Just shy of full bodied, the powdery tannins shapely and fine acidity driving this long. A classy cabernet.” 97/100 Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion

“Absolutely stunning nose with cassis, eucalypt, herbs, bramble and a touch of cedar to finish. Very finely ground tannin with rounded acid that integrates well. Chewy, precise and refreshing. A glass of pure pleasure, with serious ageability too.” 17.5 Richard Hemming MW, Jancis Robinson

Selected from the top performing clone of Cabernet Sauvignon in our vineyard. Aged in French oak for 18 months and left in bottle for 6 years prior to release.
