600 bottles produced | NEXT RELEASE AUGUST 2026

This producer crafts some of my favourite wines. There’s care for the land they work upon, there’s attention to detail, and the result is distinctive wines. La Fenêtre is the flagship and, while released with an extra year in bottle, it needs more time to settle – another year or so will make a huge difference. Lots of heady/mouth-watering funky sulphides, and you need to love them to get into this; thankfully I do with the flinty, struck-match character. Plenty of citrus, tangy and juicy, but ultimately a savoury drink with creamy, nutty lees and a distinctive chicken soup character. 100% new oak adds more detail and superfine acidity energises to the end. This is complex and classy. Alas, minuscule quantities – 600 bottles – means it sells out in a nano-second.”
96/100 Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion

Flashy, expressive aromas of struck match, lemon confit, crushed stones, white nectarines, lime curd and pastry. So much power on the palate, cut through with electric acidity. Textural, rounded mouthfeel. Generous and mouthwatering with a mineral core. Aged in 100% new French oak. Drink or hold. 600 bottles made. Screw cap.”

We firmly believe that wines that truly showcase the terroir are produced from the same hands that work the land, from a person who is in tune with and respectful of the land on which they farm. Our La Fenêtre Chardonnay is an ode to our special site. The percentage of each clone of Chardonnay that make up this wine differs from year to year, however, it is more about showcasing the clones that excelled, their fine elegance and fruit purity. Our four clones of Chardonnay are planted in two separate blocks on the Estate. Violette’s block has two plots within, the first a North South orientation, with the soil being more of a red karri loam heading down to clay and granite. The intensity of the fruit characters from this block is outstanding. The second plot an East West orientation providing higher acid retention and exhibiting a rainwater minerality. Lucas’ block is located at the back of the property, here the soil is rich clay and quartz with the granite bedrock much closer to the surface. We find that these clones have an extended ripening period, pick up the minerality from the soil and hold their natural acid very well. This elegant Chardonnay epitomises the uniqueness of our two sites. Layered white orchard fruit and citrus flesh, the fruit intensity ripples with a bright quartz like, saline minerality from the clay/quartz soils. A fine, chiselled finish with excellent persistence.
